The grandest of the Iowa gambling dens is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an Indian gambling den in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of gambling area, 1,500 slots, 30 table games, like chemin de fer, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and numerous styles of poker; including three restaurants, biweekly entertainment, and casino instructions. An additional substantial Native American gambling den is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 slots, and fourteen table games. In addition, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 slots, 36 table games, and four eatery's. There are numerous other popular Iowa casinos, including Harrah's Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

A smaller Iowa casino is the Diamond Jo, a river based casino in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 one armed bandits, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend paddle wheel boat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 slot machines, and 14 table games. Another Iowa river based casino, The Isle of Capri, is open all hours, with 24,939 sq.ft., 1,100 one armed bandits, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. riverboat casino in Clinton, has 506 slot machines, 14 table games, live productions, and Thursday chemin de fer events.

Iowa casinos provide a great amount of tax revenue to the state government of Iowa, which has allowed the budgeting of a good many state wide activities. Tourism has gotten bigger at a rapid rate along with the request for companies and an increase in jobs. Iowa gambling halls have been helpful to the expansion of the economy, and the excitement for gambling in Iowa is absolute.
